Assistant Manager, HR
We are seeking a motivated and resourceful professional to oversee HR operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of HR services. This role provides day-to-day leadership to the HR Operations team, supports workforce needs, and contributes to a caring, values-driven environment that enables staff to deliver quality palliative care.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, and exits
· Manage the organisation’s performance management exercise
· Oversee HR administration, employment documentation, and personnel records
· Coordinate payroll processes, benefits administration, and leave management
· Ensure compliance with employment legislation, statutory requirements, and internal policies
· Manage HR systems (HRIS), including data accuracy, reporting, and audit support
· Supervise and coach the HR Operations Executive to ensure service quality and consistency
· Oversee grant administration and related reporting requirements
· Serve as a key point of contact for operational HR matters and employee queries
· Support HR initiatives, process improvements, and system enhancements
· Work closely with departments to address workforce needs in a compassionate, patient-centred care environment
Requirements and Qualifications
· Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
· At least 5–7 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in healthcare, social service, or a similarly regulated environment
· Experience in HR operations, payroll coordination, and employee lifecycle management
· Familiarity with local employment legislation and statutory requirements
· Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
· Working knowledge of HRIS, preferably HRiQ
· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
· Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, empathy, and professionalism
· Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
· Proactive, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-oriented healthcare environment
